This is a project from the beginning of September to the end of October. I wanted my hallway to feel like an extension of my house, my style, things that I like and people that I love. This meant I got inspired by what is/those who are around me. The tiles contain images of art in my house, patterns of clothes I love to wear, my carpet, my cushions, etc etc. Furthermore, some amazing creative friends of mine helped me out with painting a couple of tiles, which I am so happy about. I hope that when people enter my house, they feel uplifted by all the colours and want to see more after this sneak peek!
For this project, I used porcelain paint on ceramic tiles. The best way of applying the paint took some time to get used to, but was manageable in the end. All tiles were baked in the oven at a low temperature. Last but not least, I sawed and painted white a piece of MDF, to use as the ''glue'' base for the tiles. After those were glued on, I grouted the tiles with white grout. It was my first time grouting, so I was a bit nervous. But all turnt out well!
